I wake up each morning and shuffle to your side
I reach out for your body, your arms open wide
I tend to your needs without a second thought
And I picture the lessons that will be taught--
Only it hits me so softly as I lay you in bed,
You've taught me more than could've ever been said.
I have more hope in the world,
And the future seems so clear.
You've given me peace
And life seems more dear.
So sleep well little Bailey and happily dream,
I'll be the first to greet you at the sun's early beam.
(I wrote this poem the other night after putting Bailey to bed. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with how much I love her and so I wanted to let it out by writing...It's actually the first poem I have written in a long time--So it's not the greatest :))
